In order to be considered for a Volunteer Builders' project, recipients must:
- Have the financial resources to cover all costs of the project, including finishing the shell Volunteer Builders provides.
- Be located within 2 1/2 - 3 hours driving distance of the GTA.
- Have at least a Not-For-Profit designation (although a charitable status is preferable).
- Have onsite accommodation for approximately 140 people for one weekend with kitchen facilities operable in May and available for use by Volunteer Builders.
- Have water operable in May and indoor plumbing.
- Have a property site plan, including a layout of accommodations.
